Es un artículo acerca del secuestro de Ingrid Betancourt, está en castellano y en Inglés. Si bien son muchas las mujeres que han dejado huellas en la historia de su país, es necesario recordar a Ingrid para que las mujeres sigan luchando por los derechos individuales y sociales.

EL DIA INTERNACIONAL DE LA MUJER
“La Rabia en el Corazón”, es el libro escrito por Ingrid Betancourt, ex candidata a la presidencia de Colombia, quien actualmente sufre secuestro por miembros de las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia. Este libro que redacta la historia “oscura” de Colombia, fue editado en Francia, ya que según Ingrid, la “narcopolítica” se opuso a que viera la luz en su país. Hoy, ella misma es parte de una historia cruenta y oscura, un secuestro que quiere callar a una mujer valiente, por este motivo, quiero recordar en este día 08 de marzo, instituído por las Naciones Unidas, como el Día Internacional de la Mujer, a esta señora y a todas aquellas como Isabel Suasnabar, de Huancayo, quien ha narrado ante la Comisión de la Verdad los trágicos momentos que tuvieron que vivir muchas mujeres como ella, a causa del terrorismo y por miembros del ejército, quienes lejos de brindarles la seguridad correspondiente, las violaban a ellas y a sus hijas. Por estos hechos, no nos quedemos en silencio, y pidamos la liberación de Ingrid Betancourt, una mujer que llegó a recolectar firmas para destituir a un Congreso corrupto con el fin de obtener una nueva una dirigencia, política, honesta, una mujer que buscaba verdaderos representantes del pueblo, merece nuestro apoyo. Hoy, tomando el ejemplo de estas mujeres debemos luchar contra el silencio infame, todas tenemos algo importante que decir, y nadie nos va a silenciar, por eso digamos a las FARC, ¡Liberen a Ingrid!, ya bastante daño están causando a un país latinoamericano, a un país hermano nuestro, y nosotras no podemos estar indiferentes a esta cruenta situación que también le hizo daño a nuestro Perú y corremos el riesgo de que vuelva a crecer. Todos los acontecimientos que hemos vivido en los últimos veinte años hacen que tomemos el protagonismo en la lucha por la consolidación de nuestros derechos, derechos que siempre los hemos tenido pero que aún se ven recortados por la existencia de prejuicios y estereotipos establecidos en la conciencia de los hombres desde la infancia. Si en el Perú existen más mujeres analfabetas que hombres, es porque el hombre ha ostentado mas tiempo el poder, igualmente, más mujeres son las que se dedican a las labores del hogar dando preferencia al hijo hombre para que trabaje o estudie. La participación de la mujer en política es penosa, seguramente con algunas excepciones, pues ha permitido la convivencia con la corrupción, y aunque digan que la mujer es menos corrupta, hemos sido silenciadas permitiendo actos graves de corrupción, puedo decir sin temor, que la mujer se vuelve cómplice a causa del silencio. La mujer tiene que imponerse dos veces para ser oída, y es atacada dos veces, a diferencia de los hombres, por eso Ingrid Betancourt es un ejemplo de coraje, que debemos aplicar en el Perú, y hacer que esta Democracia no se venda. Digamos juntas: no al silencio cómplice y pidamos con “la rabia en el corazón”, que se libere a Ingrid.

IN THE WOMEN´S INTERNATIONAL DAY
“With the anger in the heart”, is the title of the book written by Ingrid Betancourt, ex candidate for Colombia presidence, who actually is suffering a kidnap, that wants to silence a brave an courageus woman. That is why I want to remember in this day, March the 8th, instituted by the Unite Nations as the Women´s International Day, to this woman, and all those like peruvian Isabel Suasnabar, from Huancayo, who has narrated before the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the tragic moments that had to suffer, women like her, because of terrorism and by memebers of the army, who instead of gave them security an protection, commited sexual violations against them and their daughters.
Because of these facts, we must not keep in silence and ask for Ingrid Betancourt freedom, a woman that collected signatures to dismiss the corrupt practice in the Congress of Colombia, a woman who looked for real, genuine, representatives of people. Today, taking the example of these women, we must fight against the infamous silence, every woman has something to say and nobody is going to silence us, for that, say to FARC, Free Ingrid!. Terrorism has caused a lot of damage to Colombia, a brother country, and we can not to be indiferents to this bloody situation. That damage has also been done in Peru, and we are under the risk, terrorism grows again. All the facts, events, successes, we lived in the last 20 years, make us to have the protagonism in the fight for the consolidation of our rights, all those that have always had, but today are cut, yet, because of the existence of prejudices and stereotypes established in the minds of men since their infancy. If in Peru exists more illiterate women, is in order the existence of discrimination. Inclusive today, more women are dedicated to houseworks, giving men the preference to study and work. Women participation in politic is distressing, difficult, maybe with some exceptions, but the most have allowed corruption, and even if people say that women are less corrupt than men, we have been silenced, allowing serious acts of corruption. I can say without a fear, that women get acomplice for silence. Woman has to require twice to be listened. Ingrid Betancourt is an example of courage, that passion we have to put on in Peru and make that this Democracy not be selled, and destroyed, never more. Now, we say together: Not to the acomplice silence, and ask with the anger in our heart: Free Ingrid Betancourt!. Happy Day, women of Peru and the whole world.
